We knew nothing like it before, and yet there it stood. A little white two-seater gem, named Corvette, sitting on our Chevy dealer’s lot. Could it be? Could we be that daring to drive this fiberglass hotrod, with its gleaming chrome teeth and sparkling red interior, off the lot onto our very own driveway? Only 300 lucky buyers had the chance to do so. And as they drove off the lot on that very first delivery day, we wonder if they knew they were driving into history and into our imaginations for many years to come.
